½ cup (115g/4.1oz) butter, softened
1 tablespoon icing sugar (confectioners sugar)
1 tablespoon arrowroot
1 cup (170g) self-raising flour
Preheat oven to 150°C/300f. Line a baking tray with baking paper. Cream butter and sugar together until pale and creamy.
Add arrowroot and flour, and mix until combined. Roll a heaped teaspoon of mixture into a ball and place on the baking tray.
When all the mixture is rolled, press each little ball gently with a fork.
Bake for 10 to 12 minutes. Cool completely. Store in an airtight container. Dust with icing sugar to serve.
Optional: For the special occasion, add cream filling between two kisses.
125g butter, softened
1 & ½ cups icing sugar, sieved
Few drops of food colour (peach recommended)
Whisk butter until creamy. Add sugar and whisk until fluffy.
Add colour until mixed through evenly.
Spread on one ‘kisses’ and top with another.
