Damper so Australian

Damper - It's a ripper!
• 2 cups self raising/rising flour
• 1 & 1⁄2 cups milk (any type of milk will do)
• 1 tsp. sugar
 • 1 tsp. butter (Nuttellex works)
Sift the flour and sugar into a bowl and add a pinch of salt. Add butter and enough milk (1 cup) to make a manageable dough. Shape into a flat ball and place on a greased and floured oven tray, bake at 220C/400F for 25–30 minutes, baste with milk during cooking.
Optional: Serve hot with lashings of butter and golden syrup.
